some things in life are just difficult and unfair and impossible and heartbreaking. we may never get over some things. we may never forgive some people. we may never find closure in some situations. and that’s okay. we will keep living despite all these things.
When this pandemic is over, please do not force touching on people.
Do not hug them without permission
Do not force them to shake hands if they don’t want to
Do not put a hand on their shoulder if you don’t knwo if they woudl like it.
And, most importantly, don’t pressure the person to tell you why they don’t want being touched.
Many poeple dotn like touch because of a mental disorder. Many dont liek it because of trauma. Many don’t like it because they are asexual or aromantic. Many don’t like it for other reasons.
These are all personal and often discriminated against. It is a great invasion of privacy and respect to try and force someone to come out like that.
You are not entitled to force touch on someone who doesn’t want it. You can stomach through not getting taht, I promise. It’s not worth physically violating someone for your few seconds of mild enjoyment.
You do not want to be responsible for meltdowns, or truma, or flashbacks, or just someone feeling uncomfortable. But forcing your hands on someone, even putting a hand on their shoulder, can trigger that.
Pleas be mindful that the “everyone needs a hug” mentality is not only untrue and potentially hurtful.
I’m sure every one of you know these three. They’re the band in Halloween Town who get a decent amount of screen time in The Nightmare Before Christmas but are nowhere in the games, sadly.

Their names are never actually revealed in the movie, but they were given some in the trading card game: “James” “Jimmy” and “Jim”.

Something I’ve REALLY been wanting to discuss about them is their connection with Jack Skellington and Sally. You may have heard me mention it in posts before, but now I’ve actually gotten around to talking about it.
The band obviously has a separate connection with Jack Skellington. Whether it’s acquaintances or friends is up to you. But they are close with The Pumpkin King, as Jack isn’t afraid to act gloomy around them instead of putting up a front for them like he does with the rest of his citizens. James also calls him “Bone Daddy”, which means that the Band(or James at least) is on a nickname-basis with him.
The Band is also knowledgeable on Jack’s whereabouts, as they are the ones who tell the Mayor that he left Town and hasn’t returned. I’m guessing that the Band knows that Jack is depressed and that he often leaves and/or goes on walks. They are probably the only other characters, besides Sally, who know that Jack is upset with his title and felt troubled before he found Christmas.
It’s a bit harder to notice, but the Band also connects with Sally. The band alone can be seen standing in many places around Town, but there is a section in the movie where they are standing closer to Finklestein’s Tower. They are the only three who notice Sally jumping from her window and escaping the Tower.

What I find interesting about this exchange is that they cringe and look to see if she’s okay, but they do not go to help her. This may point to the possibility that they know Sally is capable of sewing herself back together and/or they have witnessed her doing it before. They also never admit to Finklestein where Sally is or that they saw her escape. There’s an invisible sign of trust here - that Sally knows they aren’t going to tell the Doctor she left because they know she wants to escape. When Sally passes them, they even play her a melody as she leaves for Jack’s house.
There is also a moment where Sally hides from Finklestein waiting for her task, and she bumps into James(The Saxaphone Player) to hide from him. He doesn’t make a fuss about it or mention anything to Finklestein, despite being the only one who noticed that she’s hiding behind the Well. Again, this helps back up the fact that Sally trusts them.

Taking these both into account, it’s established that the Band is friends with both Jack and Sally. They witness Jack leaving out of his depression and Sally escaping out of her unhappiness with Finklestein. They’re probably the biggest Jack/Sally shippers around, seeing as they probably knew that Jack and Sally were friends before they got together.
I am honestly disappointed that the Band was never included in the games. After all the subliminal hints set around the movie that tell you that the Band connected with two of the main characters, they still weren’t included. Smh.
